Our interview today, features Pamela S. a 3rd grade teacher, using Jooners in her classroom.
Here is Pam in her own words…
“I am a native Californian, with a 5th grade son who will end up attending the same high school that I graduated from some years ago! 🙂
This is my 25th year teaching. I love teaching because I enjoy how excited kids can be about learning. I love seeing their “Aha” moments, their use of technology and their perseverance.
I am absolutely hooked on Apple’s iMovie and iDVD. I make DVD movies for my son’s scout group, family events and more. Scrapbooking and photography are also hobbies. Vacationing with my family is of course, a top favorite.”
We sat down with Pam to talk about her use of Jooners and her advice to other teachers and parents on organizing classroom activities.
Thanks for being available to talk to us, Pam. Please tell us how you found out about Jooners first and why do you use Jooners? The school my son attends, Guadalupe Elementary uses Jooners quite a bit. As a volunteer parent, I liked the ease of use of the service and how it did not force me to register, just to volunteer! So I wanted to try it out as a teacher myself, in my classroom.
What are you using Jooners for?
So far, I’ve used it for class parties. It makes everything so easy. 5 minutes and I have the Valentine’s Day party! 15 minutes and the entire parent teacher conferences are figured out. Jooners would be good for some other upcoming projects too, such as our field trips and classroom community projects. And I always love to read other recommendations for use as well.
Do you use Jooners outside the classroom? if yes, how?
Yes, I have used it for my Cub Scout group and many family events.
What is your advice to other teachers that may be interested in Jooners?
Take advantage of the trial time on Jooners and check it out! It’s very simple. Even try it for a staff event, or something by grade level. And you will never go back to organizing on email or paper.
Thanks for talking to us today, Pam!
